It’s time for another installment of AM:PM PR’s “Be My Neighbor.” To start the new year off right, this edition will discuss one of the best things on Earth: Mexican food.
There are many great small businesses in our corner of inner-southeast Portland, but a killer quick-service Mexican joint has not yet been one [...]
Continue Reading →There’s a fine line between embracing the future of technology and being choked by it. While I understand the importance of technology and its advancement, I at times feel it encroaches too far into daily life. Technology, as it relates to interpersonal communication, has become increasingly pervasive in just about every imaginable situation. I know [...]
Continue Reading →The saying goes, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” These days, it seems like there’s a new social platform, application or deal site born every minute. Maybe it’s more like every day or week, but you get my drift. It’s overwhelming and hard to keep up with it all. Some are pretty brilliant ideas, while [...]
Continue Reading →I recently had a Craigslist experience that left me thinking about the ways people interact online. Anyone that spends any amount of time online knows that people often act differently when they’re hiding behind a computer screen than they would face-to-face. People who might normally be pleasant in person, become mean and angry the moment [...]

Flux Salon makes its home directly beneath our office in Continue Reading →
We’ve all been to particularly fun events that leave us wishing they lasted a few hours longer. We’ve also been to some that can’t get over quick enough. Here are some fundamentals to keep in mind when planning an important event. They’ll help make sure that your party falls into the former category.
1. Location, [...]

One thing I like about it is the categories of questions prompting users to share. It takes the difficulty of having to actually think out of it. It sort of feels [...]
Continue Reading →A couple of months ago I was introduced to the incredible world of sour beers at Upright Brewing and my palate hasn’t been the same since (in a good way). While at Upright, a random patron told me that if I liked the sour beer I was currently sipping, I needed to make [...]

Strategic Tactics Engineer, Alexis Dane, is so Portland it hurts. She's worked in a clothing boutique on Hawthorne. She graduated from Portland State. She loves microbrews and cats. She's lived in Vancouver, for Pete's sake. What's more Portland than that?
When an opportunity to start a public relations firm with two longtime Portland PR professionals presented itself, she thought, "That's one very Portland thing I HAVEN'T done."
Alexis first came into contact with Pat and Allison McCormick at their old company. She started out working across business lines, but eventually found her niche managing the Tillamook Cheese Fan Club, helping out with high-profile public events and hipping up the PR Marketing Team to help keep it on the cutting edge.
Next up, she's looking to "Help consumers organically build online relationships with products and brands they love." Is she willing to grow a scraggly mustache and drink Pabst to do it? Well, maybe she's not that Portland, after all.
