Allison McCormick, APR

If you haven’t yet learned from the messes The Susan G. Komen Foundation, Netflix, Bank of America, Verizon and now Burning Man have created for themselves, it’s time to wake up. I’m surprised to see organizations that have spent so much time building their [...]

Where are they? On their phones. They are more than half of mobile users in the US. Also nicknamed the Connecteds and Net Generation, they’re almost all socially networked. They do everything online, including research before buying.

The most read blogs are 150 words or less. This blog is about three times that length, so I’ve chopped it into bite-sized nuggets for easy consumption. If you want to get your message across, whether by blog, email, video or media pitch, keep it short. Shorthness will increase the likelihood that your message is remembered.

I attended my first Burning Man this September. I’m officially a “Burner.” People say there is no real way to describe the annual, week-long community in the middle of the Nevada desert unless you witness it yourself. Given Allison McCormick's fascination with the future and instinct for turning conventional thinking on its ear, it's tempting to say, "This isn't your father's public relations firm."The problem is, that's not exactly true.
AM:PM PR is her company, but it's also her father's. When he suggested taking the dynamic practice they'd built within their former firm and transforming it into something new that would continue their longtime commitment to having good times working for good clients, she leapt at the opportunity. Allison knew there would never be a better partner to continue to learn from and laugh with.
It's a logical continuation of a life spent fascinated by his profession while in hot pursuit of her own way of doing things. AM:PM PR's Team Captain loves developing creative solutions, collaborating with her team on behalf of clients and absorbing the constant flux of new information and tools into her communications repertoire.
Besides winning an international award for social media on behalf of Tillamook Cheese, she is also the proud mayor of five locations on Foursquare and has accumulated 15 badges. She serves on the board of Fish Emergency Services, chairs the public relations team and enjoys racking up Delta Sky Miles.
